Murray has been in the real estate industry for 40 years
Prior to commencing in the real estate industry Murray worked in the stock and station industry, working for Newton King Ltd, Allied Farmers and Elders Pastoral. He attended Lincoln College in 1966 to 1968 both as a student and lectured in the Wool Diploma Course.
Qualified to sell real estate while based in Te Kuiti, selling rural properties throughout the King Country region.
Transferring back to Hamilton Murray was appointed National Manager for Elders Real Estate.
In 1993 Murray purchased a shareholding in Century 21 NZ Ltd with a network of 60 offices throughout New Zealand. In 2011 Murray sold his shareholding in Century21 to purchase Whangamata Real Estate.
As a past President and life member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand Murray is also a Licenced Auctioneer.
In 2020 Murray was awarded the "Community Service Award" by the Thames Coromandel District Council for services to the Whangamata community.
Murray is married to Barbara with three children and three grandchildren. His interests are rugby, golf and enjoying beach life at Whangamata.
